Computer Science – first and second cycle studies
The Computer Science programme at the Academy of Humanities and Economics (AHE) in Łódź is designed for those who want to gain a solid foundation in modern technologies and prepare for a career in the rapidly growing IT industry. Our computer science studies offer a practical approach to learning, combining theory with technical skills such as designing IT systems, including artificial intelligence systems, programming business applications and managing computer networks. The study programme has been designed with the needs of today's world in mind, where IT specialists are in demand in almost every industry.
IT studies are available in the form of first-cycle engineering studies, lasting 3.5 years, and second-cycle studies, which allow you to deepen your knowledge and obtain a master's degree in engineering. AHE also offers a unique opportunity to study computer science in English at the first-cycle level and, starting from the new semester, also at the second-cycle level in one specialisation, which attracts both Polish and foreign students interested in an international career in the IT sector.
At AHE, we focus on practical education, enabling students to learn various programming languages, design web applications and explore the latest technologies, such as AI, CI/CD, DevOps, Git, big data, NetOps and 5G.
Specialisations in Computer Science in English
The Computer Science programme at AHE offers a variety of specialisations that allow students to tailor their educational path to their individual interests and career goals. Specialisations are available at the first and second cycle levels.
First-cycle studies in English
ICT Networks
The ICT Networks specialisation in English is the equivalent of the Polish version of this specialisation in first-cycle studies. It is aimed at students interested in a global career in IT. The programme focuses on the design and operation of computer networks, with an emphasis on international standards and network technologies. It is an excellent choice for those who want to gain qualifications that are recognised worldwide.
Programming Technologies
Programming Technologies is also the English equivalent of the Polish version of this specialisation in first-cycle studies. It prepares students as engineers to create modern software, with a particular focus on Internet applications and systems. The programme develops fundamental programming skills and introduces students to the world of professional tools and work methodologies, such as software development management systems (e.g. version control – in the first semester) and the basics of unit testing. Students gain in-depth knowledge of web technologies and the design and implementation of Internet applications, including working with online databases. System analysis, web application testing and distributed systems programming are also important elements of the programme, enabling students to create scalable and reliable solutions. Students learn to design web and desktop applications, which opens the door to working in international IT companies. This specialisation combines a practical approach with the global dimension of the programming profession.
Artificial Intelligence (AI)
The Artificial Intelligence (AI) specialisation in English is also the equivalent of the Polish version of this specialisation in engineering studies (first cycle). This programme will provide you with a comprehensive and solid foundation in mathematics and algorithms, and then you will delve into key areas of AI such as machine learning, deep learning, computer vision and natural language processing. You will also gain valuable knowledge in the fields of AI Ethics, Practical Applications and Case Studies, and Intellectual Property Protection, obtaining an engineering degree and excellent preparation for work in junior positions as a machine learning engineer, AI systems architect (GPT chats, LLM) or to continue your education at the master's level.
Second-cycle studies in English
The general curriculum for master's studies in English is also equivalent to the Polish general curriculum. It aims to provide all students with solid, common competences in advanced software engineering, modern programming technologies (Python) and system security and quality.

The Data Processing Technologies specialisation in the Master's degree programme (second cycle) in English is also equivalent to the Polish version of this specialisation in the second cycle. The programme deepens knowledge and skills in the field of advanced analysis, management and processing of information. The programme focuses on modern methods and tools used to work with large and complex data sets. Students explore advanced machine learning techniques and Big Data processing technologies. Emphasis is placed on the design of advanced database systems and data exploration to discover patterns and knowledge. The programme also covers specialised topics such as Intelligent Text Processing, which opens up opportunities in the analysis of unstructured data. AHE also focuses on modern technologies, which is why the study program includes topics related to Artificial Intelligence (AI), software engineering, DevOps and CI/CD, and even 5G.

AHE offers first-cycle studies (engineering, 3.5 years) and second-cycle studies (master's, 1.5 years). After completing your engineering studies, you have the option of further specialization in postgraduate studies.
In English at the first level: ICT networks (network administration), programming technologies (applications and Internet systems with elements of data warehouse and game programming), Artificial Intelligence (AI) (key areas of AI, such as machine learning, deep learning, computer vision, and natural language processing). At the second level: Data Processing Technologies (data analysis).
The general curriculum for master's studies aims to provide all students with solid, common competencies in advanced software engineering, modern programming technologies (Python), and system security and quality.
The program includes practical classes in various programming languages (using a code versioning system from the first semester), web and business application design, computer graphics, software testing, rapid prototyping, DevOps techniques, as well as computer network operation, and last but not least, artificial intelligence (AI) issues. You will learn to program in various languages (e.g., C/C++, Python, Java), design web applications in the latest frameworks and using CI/CD techniques, administer networks, manage databases, and use technologies such as machine learning and Big Data.
Classes are taught by researchers, practitioners, and specialists with experience in the IT industry, which guarantees a practical approach based on real-world professional problems and current technologies.
Graduates find employment as programmers, prompt programmers, network administrators, data analysts, web designers, and cybersecurity specialists in IT companies, institutions, and teams producing software or computer hardware.
