Since 2007, the Academy of Humanities and Economics in Łódź has been authorized to confer a doctoral degree in the humanities in the discipline of linguistics.
RULES FOR OPENING A DOCTORAL GRADUATE AT AHE:

Law 2.0, and the law implementing it, sets forth the requirements for those applying to open a doctoral dissertation. Pursuant to Article 186 of Law 2.0, the person shall have at least:
in his/her body of work.

- 1 scientific article published in a scientific journal or in the peer-reviewed materials of an international conference, which, in the year the article was published in its final form, was included in the list drawn up in accordance with the regulations issued pursuant to Article 267(2)(2)(b), or
- .
- 1 scientific monograph published by a publishing house which, in the year of publication of the monograph in its final form, was included in the list drawn up in accordance with the regulations issued pursuant to Article 267(2)(2)(a), or a chapter in such a monograph (a publishing house which is on the Ministry's list scoring 80 or 200 points).

The introductory law details the requirements of Article 186 of Law 2.0:

Article 179.Proceedings for the conferment of the degree of doctor, the degree of doctor habilitated and the title of professor initiated after September 30, 2019, shall be conducted on the basis of the provisions of the Act referred to in Article 1, except that in proceedings initiated until December 31, 2020, the achievements referred to in Article 186, paragraph 1, point 3(a) and Article 219, paragraph 1, point 2(b) of that Act shall also include:

- Scientific articles published:
- .
- in scientific journals or peer-reviewed materials of international conferences included in the list drawn up in accordance with the regulations issued pursuant to Article 267(2)(2)(b) of this Law, before the date of publication of that list,
- .
- before January 1, 2019, in scientific journals that were included in either Part A or Part C of the list of scientific journals established in accordance with the regulations issued pursuant to Article 44, paragraph 2 of the Act repealed in Article 169, point 4, and announced by the announcement of the Minister of Science and Higher Education of January 25, 2017, or were included in Part B of that list, with scientific articles published therein awarded at least 10 points;

- Scientific monographs published by:

- a publishing house included in the list drawn up in accordance with the regulations issued pursuant to Article 267(2)(2)(a) of this Law, prior to the date of publication of that list,
- .
- the organizational unit of the entity whose publishing house is included in the list drawn up in accordance with the regulations issued pursuant to Article 267(2)(2)(a) of this Law,
- .
The dean, having ascertained compliance with the formal requirements, shall submit the submitted application to the Faculty Council of the faculty responsible for the discipline.

After consideration, the Faculty Council adopts, by secret ballot, by an absolute majority, a resolution to open the doctoral program and to appoint a supervisor.
The Faculty Council shall decide by secret ballot, by an absolute majority, on the opening of the doctoral program and the appointment of a supervisor.
After writing the dissertation, the Doctoral Student passes the doctoral examinations: in the basic discipline, in an additional discipline and in a foreign language.
The Doctoral Student submits the thesis with an abstract in Polish and English in two, bound copies, for review.

After receiving positive reviews of the thesis, a date is set for the thesis defense.

The dissertation is calculated at PLN 14,600.

In the case of a doctoral dissertation for which more than one promoter has been appointed, the costs of the doctoral dissertation shall be increased by the remuneration for the subsequent promoters.

The fee for conducting the doctoral program is payable in two equal installments:
.
- first installment payable within 7 days from the date of opening of the doctoral program
- .
- the second installment payable no later than 7 days before the date of defense of the doctoral dissertation.
- the second installment payable no later than 7 days before the date of defense of the doctoral dissertation.
Doctoral program - as the beginning of the adventure

For those without a crystallized vision of their own doctoral dissertation, the AHE in Lodz runs a DOCTORAL PROGRAM, which includes a wide range of continuing education courses in every discipline.
The completion of each course will be confirmed by a certificate of completion affiliated with AHE.

Seminar registration fee: 500 PLN (for AHE graduates - 300 PLN)

Monthly fee (tuition paid for 12 months): PLN 310 - linguistics

By order of the Chancellor dated 29/09/2012, the following fees for additional administrative activities were introduced:

- issuance of a doctoral diploma (original and copy in Polish) - PLN 120
- .
- issuance of an additional copy of a doctoral diploma in foreign language translation (issued at the request of the interested party) - 60 PLN
- .
- issuance of a duplicate of a doctoral diploma - 180 zł
- .
- issuance of a certificate - 10 zł
