Webinar z Carlosem Mortonem – amerykańskim dramatopisarzem

Kierunek filologia obca zaprasza studentów, wykładowców i innych zainteresowanych na webinar z Carlosem Mortonem – amerykańskim dramatopisarzem, stypendystą Fullbrighta, profesorem prowadzącym kursy z creative writing, dramatopisarstwa, teatru latynoamerykańskiego i latynoskiego.

Kiedy? – 18 maja 2022 (środa), godzina 18.00-19.30

Carlos Morton jest autorem takich sztuk jak The Many Deaths of Danny Rosales and Other Plays (1983), Johnny Tenorio and Other Plays (1992),The Fickle Finger of Lady Death (1996), Rancho Hollywood y otras obras del teatro chicano (1999), Dreaming on a Sunday in the Alameda (2004), and Children of the Sun: Scenes for Latino Youth (2008). Carlos Morton pisał również dla Columbia Pictures Television i pracował jako konsultant dla amerykańskiej Fox Television.

Podczas tego webinaru Carlos Morton poruszy takie tematy m.in. jak Chicano, tożsamość meksykańsko-amerykańska, Spanglish, code-switching, połączenie chrześcijańskiego – meksykańskiego mitu w sztuce El Jardin.

Webinar będzie prowadzony w języku angielskim.

Olga Majchrzak, Ph.D. - The Dean of the English Department at the University of Humanities and Economics in Łódź, Małgorzata Ziółek-Sowińska, Ph.D. and her students kindly invite other students and the interested public to a webinar with Carlos Morton – a distinguished Fulbright lecturer, American professor and Chicano dramatist.
During this webinar selected students will read selected fragments from Carlos Morton’s play El Jardin (1988). In the conversation with Małgorzata Ziółek-Sowińska and her students, Carlos Morton will reflect on topics such as Mexican American identity, Chicano, Spanglish English, code-switching, and a blending of Christian and Mexican myth in the play El Jardin.
The webinar will be conducted in English.
