The University of Humanities and Economics in Lodz has the right to conduct 1st degree (Bachelor’s degree) studies at the Department of Art in the faculty of: Dance.
The decision regarding this matter was made by the Ministry of Science and Higher Education. Earlier, the application of the University received positive opinions of the National Accreditation Committee. The initiator and creator of the faculty of Dance at the Department of Art of the University of Humanities and Economics in Lodz is Alexandr Azarkevitch, PhD.
The course is addressed to people who dance in modern dance and social dance formations, song and dance groups, dance theatres, those who do artistic gymnastics, ice dance, graduated from nonpublic or general education ballet schools or ballet private schools as well as those who conduct dance classes, cultural and artistic classes or have dancechoreographicpedagogical skills. We welcome everyone whose passion is dance, choreography or pedagogics of dance as well as those who would like to enrich their interests not only with professional practical knowledge but also theoretical knowledge. Classes in the faculty of : Dance, will be conducted by experts in their fields: choreographers, experts in the field of theatre, wellknown dancers as well as choreographers and directors.
Studies in the faculty of Dance have been conducted since October 2011 in the fulltime and parttime program. After graduation from the faculty of Dance at the Department of Art of the University of Humanities and Economics in Lodz, you will be awarded a Bachelor’s degree diploma and be able to work as a dancer at professional dance theatres, dance groups, music and musical theatres in the country and abroad: Theatrical choreographer and choreographer of dance groups; Dance pedagogue at dance schools, ballet schools and centers, culturaleducational and educationaltraining centers.
The University of Humanities and Economics in Lodz has experienced didactic personnel as well as infrastructure (ballet rooms with equipment) for substantial education.
Music scene artist (3year fulltime program) – NEW Specialization of Musical scene artist is addressed to those who wish to acquire dancingvocalacting skills necessary to perform the profession at musical theatres and to perform in musicals.
choreographer (3year fulltime program) Choreographer, in the words of the renowned Polish ballet historian Janina Pudełek: “(…) is an artist responsible for the dancemovement and theatrical composition of the shape of a scenic work (…). A choreographer’s work, despite the fact of bearing all the characteristics of a separate art using its own material – body and personality of a man – in certain creative phases resembles the work of a playwright, composer, visual artist (…) and director.
Pedagogics of dance (3year parttime program) A graduate of the specialization: pedagogics of dance will gain qualifications necessary in order to conduct classes in the field of various dance forms at culturaleducational and educationaltraining facilities as well as schools of art.
dancer (3year fulltime program) Dancer a unusual profession that requires great physical fitness, as well as sensitivity to the arts. Dancer is a performer of ballroom dancing, modern and art dance in its various facets: from classical ballet, typical dance to modern dance.
